Uxn68k

Uxn68k is a Varvara implementation for System 7.

It has been developed and tested in Minivmac.

Quickstart

Download and install Minivmac
Download a valid vMAC.ROM file
Download and unzip uxn68k-demo.dsk.zip
Run Minivmac (e.g. minivmac uxn68k-demo.dsk)
Launch Uxn68k and open some ROM files!

The article Your First THINK C Program was the inspiration for me to start working on this project. If you want a less abbreviated guide to using Minivmac this is the article for you!

In addition to useful software (such as vMAC.ROM required by minivmac), the Internet Archive also hosts a massive collection of old documentation, including the Inside Macintosh 1992-1994 Series.

The Macintosh Repository is an amazing resource of Macintosh software. I found many useful piece of software there but especially the THINK Reference documentation database.

Joshua Stein recorded an excellent series of videos on using THINK C to develops software for classic Macintosh computers. He also created a version control system for older Mac development.

Finally, Paul C. Pratt and the other contributors to Minivmac project have made early Macintosh computers accessible to so many people, and have also made it so much easier to develop and test software for 68k Macs!
